Anthemic future pop with a retro vibe
‘March On Blaze’ immediately strikes me with that typical late 90s/early 2000s vibe, as heard from VNV Nation or Assemblage 23. The song sounds like genuine future pop – anthemic, gripping and with plenty of oomph for the dance floor. The chorus in particular sticks in your head, so catchy that you find yourself singing along after just a few seconds.
Even if Prometheus Flame isn't reinventing the genre, the track brings back exactly what I often find lacking in current club sounds: energy, directness and that mix of future pop and trance elements that the artist himself describes.
In terms of production, the whole thing is cleanly executed, with a rich, powerful sound that immediately draws you in. For me, it's a solid, powerful contribution that clearly shows why Prometheus Flame as a project continues the golden era of future pop in a modern way – without getting lost in retro nostalgia.
