‘Follow your eyes’: Balduvian Bears lead into the depths of the ‘Underworld’

Balduvian Bear's ‘Underworld’ is like a dance on the threshold between melancholy and hope. With its brisk dark wave beat, it goes straight to the legs and won't let me go. I feel reminded of a more optimistic version of the typical The Cure sound, which is quite impressive.

What particularly fascinates me are the unique synthesiser sounds that give the track an unmistakable signature. They fit seamlessly into the classic elements of the genre, creating something refreshingly new.

The song is taken from the 3‑track EP of the same name and, for me, perfectly represents what Balduvian Bears stand for: danceable melancholy with a touch of hope and a contemporary dark wave sound. The lyrics skilfully underline this mood. When I hear lines like "Follow your eyes, take a piece of me tonight", I feel this bittersweet yearning that runs through the entire track.
