Radical Bicep x Rayne Reznor – Crimson Flowers

Danceable synth pop perfection

Radical Bicep x Rayne Reznor deliv­er a very good mix of synth pop sound and dark wave atmo­sphere with ‘Crimson Flowers’, which imme­di­ately grabs me. The subtle gui­tars remind me of The Cure – it's pre­cisely this touch that gives the track a spe­cial fla­vour without seem­ing arti­fi­cial. But what really counts here is the beat: driv­ing, but nev­er too dom­in­ant, and the soft female vocals add just the right pop touch to hold it all together.

For three minutes, the song remains dynam­ic and com­pletely dance­able, without ever becom­ing mono­ton­ous for me. This is exactly how con­tem­por­ary synth pop should feel.
