Official music video "Hey Stranger" performed by "Mesh" taken from the album "The Truth Doesn't Matter". BTW: Also the b‑side "Tilt" is a real banger. Check it out.
Excerpt from our deep dive review of ‘The Truth Doesn't Matter’ from our upcoming print magazine at the end of March 2027:
Like a romantic ballad that seems to have sprung directly from the 80s, 'Hey Stranger' opens and immediately whisks us away into a dreamy synth pop world full of feeling. The vocals feel incredibly soothing and empathetic, carried by soft, drawn-out harmonies that wrap around the listener like a warm coat.
But the appearance of initial calm is positively deceptive: the structure turns out to be surprisingly dynamic. New tones and innovative sounds constantly mix into the arrangement, so you can hardly get used to the status quo. Although the song is complexly arranged, it never feels overloaded or overwhelming at any point. Simply too much exciting stuff is happening on the auditory level. The 4:06 minutes literally fly by. Creating such a short-lived sense of time in a number that is essentially a ballad is a true art and commands my deepest respect.

Lyrics of "Mesh – Hey Stranger"
What changed this evening
It’s strange to hear you
Your face is stronger
Your hands are colder
Hey Stranger
I cried for you for much too long
Everything I said was wrong
Everything we were is gone
I can’t remember
If you were angry
Your voice is softer
I don’t trust my memory
Hey Stranger
I cried for you for much too long
Everything I said was wrong
Everything we were is gone
And all the love we gave away
Could be returned to us today
Hey Stranger
I cried for you for much too long
Everything I said was wrong
Everything we were is gone
Hey Stranger
Loneliness will pull me down
Cling to me before I drown
We’ve suffered just to wear these crowns
We were never meant to walk on water
Hey Stranger,
I cried for you for much too long
Everything I said was wrong
Everything we were is gone
Hey Stranger
Loneliness will pull me down
Cling to me before I drown
We’ve suffered just to wear these crowns
