Complex and twisted: Why the new Hatif song absolutely fascinates me
The Swedish band Hatif presents their brand-new song "Arm's Length Away," a touch more complex and unconventional. This is precisely what fascinates me about this project: I particularly love these Hatif songs that perfectly blend cool dark wave with driving EBM and a delightful touch of synth-pop harmony. The final touch, in my opinion, is the cleverly interwoven sound effects here and there, which have become a strong trademark of the band.
Despite the many different sounds that make the song extremely varied, the track maintains a clear, straightforward direction throughout. It never feels cluttered. The vocals skillfully round out the experience, being, as always, pleasantly soft, dark, and somewhat melancholic.
