Menthüll – Carré de Sable

The Canadian band 'Menthüll' delights us again with a new song called 'Carré de Sable' taken from the EP 'Madeleine'. I love to com­pare new songs with clas­sics, because then you imme­di­ately build up a deep­er emo­tion to the song. So my first asso­ci­ation of the intro of 'Carré de Sable' was to com­pare it with 'Radio Ga Ga' by 'Queen'. I don't think I've ever actu­ally used 'Queen' as a com­par­is­on, but here it fits very well.

The song doesn't stay like that though. It quickly turns into an indus­tri­al chilled club song where you sip expens­ive cock­tails and enjoy the show in the club. I haven't heard a song with such a vibe for a long time and I find it refresh­ing again.
