A mysterious new layer: Soft Faith impress with "A Place To Hide"
For their melancholic song "A Place To Hide", Soft Faith from the US have brought in Heather Nation for vocal support. This gives the piece a beautiful new component and adds another mysterious layer to it, which fits perfectly with the track's dark origin. After all, the work was inspired by the divorce of lead singer Aaron Thompson.
In general, the synth pop song sounds rather dark and immediately draws the listener in. The distinctive piano stands out to me in particular, because it strangely reminds me directly of classic 80s horror films, most notably "A Nightmare on Elm Street". Exactly this eerie yet fascinating musical atmosphere makes the track an absolutely gripping experience.
