Melancholy on repeat – Swedish synth pop with potential
Sometimes a song feels like looking through a milky glass – familiar, but not quite tangible. That's how "Story With No End" by Syntax Supreme feels to me. The relaxed synth pop track from Sweden impresses with a pleasant, warm voice and a production that is solid but a little too cautious for my taste. I would have liked to hear more courage in the sound – a break, an unexpected effect, something surprising.
The bridge stands out pleasantly: calm, atmospheric, almost floating. The lyrics are repetitive, but this also makes them stick in your head – lines like "Dream for dreaming's sake / Bend but never break" strike a melancholic chord for me. A beautiful song that I just wish had a little more edge.

Lyrics of "Syntax Supreme – Story With No End"
Play the game now
Lose it somehow
Chasing shadows and grasping broken dreams
Buy the lie now
Fake it somehow
Run in circles we're breaking at the seams
Dream for dreaming’s sake
Bend but never break
It's the game make believe and make pretend
Crave what you can hold
Say me things untold
Then – it’s a story with no end
Fold your last hand
Take a new stand
Burn your bridges and leave your fear behind
When youre broken
Truth is spoken
Clouds start dancing and stars will guide your mind
Dream for dreaming’s sake
Bend but never break
It's the game make believe and make pretend
Crave what you can hold
Say me things untold
Then – it’s a story with no end
