Blood On The Ceiling: Emmons’ hypnotic electro nightmare
Emmon's latest track ‘Blood on the Ceiling’ is like a cold shiver running down my spine – in the best possible way. For this song, the Swedish artist has teamed up with Majestoluxe to deliver a minimal electro track that's full of attitude.
From the very beginning, I feel the uncomfortable, almost threatening atmosphere that runs through the entire song. The cool, minimalist synths create a hypnotic soundscape that inevitably immerses me in Emmon's dark world. I was particularly impressed by the interplay of electroclash elements and synth pop, which gives the track a very unique touch.
The music video for ‘Blood on the Ceiling’ is a visual highlight for me. The stylish black and white shots (which later change to colour) perfectly underline the cool aesthetics of the song and give it an additional artistic depth.
There's blood on the ceiling and a head in a box
Lyrics line of 'Blood On The Ceiling' by 'Emmon'
What particularly captivates me is the development of the track. In the last third, Emmon really turns up the heat and surprises me with an almost aggressive twist. The lyrics "There's blood on the ceiling and a head in a box" echo in my head for a long time and reinforce the oppressive feeling that the song triggers in me.

Lyrics of "Emmon – Blood On The Ceiling (Feat. Majestoluxe)"
Dancing in the window
To your favourite song
Gazing at the head lights
On the street down below
Hidden in the shadows
Your secrets revealed
Playing to the surface
of your pale sticky skin
Examine your reflection
While the harmony stops
There's blood on the ceiling
And a head in a box
Dancing in the window
To your favourite song
Gazing at the head lights
On the street down below
Hidden in the shadows
Your secrets revealed
Playing to the surface
of your pale sticky skin
Examine your reflection
While the harmony stops
There's blood on the ceiling
And a head in a box
I glance to the mirror as the volume of the music turns up
Hidden in the shadows
Your secrets revealed
Playing to the surface
of your pale sticky skin
Examine your reflection
While the harmony stops
There's blood on the ceiling
And a head in a box
