Octolab’s epic return
Octolab are finally back and, with “Words From A Stranger” from their latest album “Waiting For A Better Ending”, present a wonderfully upbeat and energetic track. The band builds a sonic tension that seems on the verge of bursting, carried by majestic, epic choruses.
Octolab themselves classify the track as future pop. To be honest, I’m not sure whether I can fully confirm or refute that. The rapid BPM and the rousing energy certainly support it and make this assessment entirely understandable. Sonically speaking, however, the track strikes me more as a form of mystical synth pop with a fascinating Enigma-esque touch. For me, this song is definitely well worth a listen and wonderfully refreshing!
