When the rain becomes a dance floor
I got stuck on this cool dark wave/cold wave track, which works with an incredible amount of atmosphere. The Spoiled weaves the synthesiser sounds subtly but very clearly into the sound structure here and there. What particularly grabs me is that, despite its heaviness, the track moves forward at a good tempo. It's this perfect blend of depth and dynamics that immediately made me want to dance melancholically.
Giovanni Santolla manages to make the feeling of ‘Sundown in me’ so tangible, while literally pulling me into the blue. A powerful piece of Italian darkness that strikes just the right balance between harsh percussion and ethereal melancholy.

Lyrics of "The Spoiled – When It Rains"
Sometimes oceans ain’t that deep
Lay down, close your eyes with me
A million different voices pass me by
The sorrow you leave me when you’re not here
When it rains
Sometimes I need a stranger’s bed
And then I’ll dig an angel’s grave
A million different people pass me by
And now I know you hurt yourself again
There was sunrise in you
There is sundown in me
On and on, shot yourself and said “This one’s for you”
When it rains, save me from the ghosts I will not leave
Sometimes I dive (in another time)
Somewhere then I (wish I could have saved you)
On and on, shot yourself and said “This one’s for you”
When it rains, close my eyes and drag me into the blue
