A Nostalgia Trip with Youthful Spirit
With "Old Moons", Child Of Night deliver a track that immediately captivated me with its charmingly nostalgic synth pop sound. The song exudes an almost naive, youthful spirit reminiscent of the 80s – and it's precisely this lightheartedness that I find so appealing. Sure, the arrangement is far from perfect, and I definitely see room for improvement in the mixing. But honestly, in a time flooded with sterile, awful AI-generated songs, I find these rough edges particularly appealing.
Sonically, the band leans a bit towards Nuovo Testamento, although I'm still missing that truly catchy beat with a real punch. Instead, "Old Moons" relies on a light, playful melody and genuinely pleasant, feminine vocals that are simply enjoyable. An honest piece of music with heart.
