Black Rose Moves: Mysterious sounds in "Ghost Town"
Black Rose Moves take us into a dark, mysterious world of sound with their latest track "Ghost Town". The song, which is taken from their debut album "Summer Of Sorrow", begins quietly and determinedly before it spreads into a dense, dark atmosphere. The warm vocals fit perfectly into the dark wave genre and, together with subtle guitars in the background, create an eerie mood.
"Ghost Town" is classic dark wave, characterised by electronic elements and a deep melancholy. The pulsating synths and driving beats create a hypnotic soundscape that invites you to dance and reflect in equal measure. Particularly impressive is the way in which Black Rose Moves transform their influences – from The Cult to Interpol – into their own unique sound.
The music video, however, is a little disappointing. Despite the beautiful black-and-white aesthetic and interesting locations, the video with its stock material aesthetic seems a little uninspired and leaves the visual experience behind the musical quality. Overall, "Ghost Town" is an impressive second single that makes you want more from Black Rose Moves. A must for fans of dark wave and post-punk sounds.
