Lonely hearts unite: Blackbook's “Suffer In Silence” hits the spot
When I read the title, I initially thought of a Blackbook cover of the Apoptygma Berzerk classic ‘Suffer In Silence’. But after just a few seconds, it became clear that something very different and at least as fascinating awaited me.
The song embraces me with its authentic 80s sound, which is dripping with passion. It is this melancholic, but at the same time heartwarming mood that instantly convinces me. Blackbook masterfully capture the essence of the classic synth pop sound and give it a modern interpretation.
What particularly impressed me is the fantastic bridge. Here, the Swiss artists break through the nostalgic charm and present a sound that really blows me away. I was already extremely impressed by this in their previous single ‘I Am Not A Robot’. It almost seems to me as if they challenged themselves to compose the best and most twisted bridges – and the result is simply damn awesome.
I don’t need your advice
I don’t need a solution
All I need is some time
In isolation
Lyrics by "Suffer In Silence" performed by "Blackbook"
Lyrically, ‘Suffer In Silence’ takes on the theme of voluntary isolation. Lines like "Let me suffer in silence, on my own" perfectly reflect the mood that the song conveys musically. It is this mixture of introspection and the desire for solitude that I feel in the music and that touches me deeply.

Lyrics of "Blackbook – Suffer In Silence"
Let me suffer in silence
Let me suffer in silence
I don’t want be to saved
I don’t want to be rescued
And I don’t need a guide
Or anybody to talk to
All my life I’ve been waiting, waiting
For my life to begin
Let me suffer in silence
On my own
Let me suffer in silence
On my own
I don’t need your advice
I don’t need a solution
All I need is some time
In isolation
All my life I’ve been longing, longing
For my life to get going
Let me suffer in silence
On my own
Let me suffer in silence
On my own
Just let me suffer in silence
And all alone
Let me suffer in silence
On my own
Let me suffer in silence
Just let me suffer in silence
Let me suffer in silence
Let me suffer in silence
On my own
Let me suffer in silence
On my own
Let me suffer in silence
Just let me suffer in silence
Let me suffer in silence
