Corrosive Charm and Cold Beats
I've got "It Burns" on my headphones again, and with "Trouble", the Czech band delivers exactly what I want to hear: The song is beautifully cool, danceable, uncluttered, and wonderfully varied. The vocals are particularly noteworthy; they're absolutely spot on. They're simply fantastic and give the cool electronics a soft, feminine touch that adds another exciting layer to the song.
As with the song "Shift to Overdrive", longtime Anne Clark fans will especially love this one. Lyrically, it fits the dark wave atmosphere perfectly, dealing with toxic obsession and the loss of self-determination. The song is fantastic through and through, but unfortunately not entirely flawless. To be honest, the occasional funky guitars instantly annoyed me, and I almost dismissed the song because of them. Luckily, this is kept to a minimum over the course of the song, so the dark vibe isn't ruined.

Indulge, resist
The nightmare it persists
Devoted little bitch
Just begging for a fix
You crack the whip
I’ll show you my tricks
Your soft words incite
Such reckless delights
Around you I can
Never stay calm
Enchanted by your
Corrosive charm
Grinding my anchors
Of resolve to dust
The thrill of the fire
Is just too much
Maybe it’s better
You and me together
You give the orders
And I thrive on disorder
Regrets? Ah…
I’ve had a few
But I feel so goddamn
Alive with you
Trouble
The wreck that I’m in
Trouble
I fail when you win
Trouble
The games that we play
Trouble
I’ll do what you say
Jaded, in ruins
A system of undoing
Tighten the screws
Till I split into two
You’re so easy to get into
The hardest to get out of
My sweet little vice
I’m your human device
Obsessive destruction
Moral reduction
But it’s fine
Society is dying all the time
So caught up in
Pleasing you
I bit off more than
I can chew
Trouble
The wreck that I’m in
Trouble
I fail when you win
Trouble
The games that we play
Trouble
I’ll do what you say
