‘Let Me Light Your Mind’ – but please without the vocoder overkill
Light Your Mind starts with a technoid house intro that is almost a little too minimalistic for my taste. The track strikes me as a chilled-out version of a commercial Ibiza summer hit – well produced, but perhaps a little too polished. What bothers me most are the exaggerated vocoder effects. I think that's a shame because Andrés' voice actually has so much more to offer.
I like the lyrical idea: the notion of taking someone's emotional burden off their shoulders – "I'd carry your weight, you know" – comes across as honest and fits well with the dreamy synth pop sound. Nevertheless, Light Your Mind remains more of a nice appetiser than a real highlight in X‑Marks' catalogue for me.

Lyrics of "X‑Marks The Pedwalk – Light Your Mind"
I’d carry my weight, you know,
but you’re everywhere I go, so I can grow
Time after time I’d hurt
that’s when you’d turn and say that I should know…
there’s not a day that I’m alone,
with all our faith there’s always home
I believe you‘re not that strong,
so I ask you to let me light your mind
Let me light your mind
Let me light your mind
I’d carry your weight, you know,
and be everywhere you go, so you can grow
I’d light your mind
I’d light your mind
Time after time you’ll hurt
that’s when I’ll turn and say that you should know…
there’s not a day that I’m alone,
with all our faith there’s always home
I believe you‘re not that strong,
so I ask you to let me light your mind
Let me light your mind
Let me light your mind
and save you too
I’m begging you
I’d light your mind
I’d light your mind
