Chopper's 'Sugar And Spice' is a perfect blast from the past. The Danish artist has done an exceptional job in recreating the classic 80s sound with an electro-pop and post-punk twist. From the moment the song starts, you are transported to a time where neon lights, shoulder pads and big hair were the norm.
The sound and accompanying music video are incredibly authentic, as if the song was lost and only recently discovered. Even the saxophone sound, which is not my personal favourite, fits perfectly into the song's nostalgic atmosphere. You can't help but feel the dancy and energetic vibe of the track, making it impossible not to move along.
Although 'Sugar And Spice' may not be suited for today's dark dancefloor, it is undoubtedly a welcome addition to any 80s playlist. It's the kind of song that makes you want to jump in a DeLorean and head straight to the nearest disco. 'Chopper' has done an exceptional job of creating a sound that transports you back in time while still keeping it fresh and exciting.
