A sublime farewell

Thematically, it’s all about farewells, transience and the gentle transition to the afterlife. The lyrics explore the peaceful acceptance of life’s end through powerful imagery drawn from mythology and familiar motifs such as the ‘Deadman’s Hand’ or Charon, the ferryman. In keeping with this lyrical framework, the overall mood is noticeably melancholic, both sonically and in the vocals. The result is a cleanly produced track that feels extremely grounded and perfectly illustrates exactly how modern synth-pop should sound today.
The only criticism, for which I must, with a heavy heart, remove one point from the overall score, is that the generic AI-generated cover artwork unfortunately conveys an apocalypse rather than a peaceful farewell. My personal plea to Ironic Sweden: please stop with this AI rubbish. Musically, you really don’t need it.

Lyrics of "Ironic Sweden – Walk With Angels"
It's the end of my life
It's the end of it all
The dealer gave me a deadman's hand
It's time to resign
We might be several oceans apart
But for me it's only one
So please guide me on my last ride
The needle is not showing north
Walk with angels
They'll guide me tonight
I'm leaving earth now without a strife
Walk with angels they'll guide me tonight
It's the end of my life
I'll get my coins for the ferryman
He will take me to Him
He looked at me and he turned around
Follow me he said
Walk with angels
They'll guide me tonight
I'm leaving earth now without a strife
Walk with angels they'll guide me tonight
It's the end of my life
Crying angels with broken wings
Their tears extinguish the fire within
Crying angels with flaming swords
Pointing at me tonight
Walk with angels
They'll guide me tonight
I'm leaving earth now without a strife
Walk with angels they'll guide me tonight
It's the end of my life
