Meersein – Ariel

Meersein enchants with harmonic depth and a dark bridge

With “Ariel”, Meersein deliv­ers a track that, to me, is a quint­es­sen­tial Meersein song: char­ac­ter­ised by plenty of soft vocals and har­mon­ies that imme­di­ately envel­op you. The pro­duc­tion has a par­tic­u­larly soft under­tone, which, to my taste, even drifts slightly towards elec­tro pop. In keep­ing with this, the music video cap­tiv­ates with its clean and authen­t­ic visu­als, which per­fectly cap­ture the vibe.

Thematically, the track takes us on the jour­ney of a siren who sac­ri­fices her voice and her ori­gins for love – a “fate­ful choice”, as the lyr­ics put it. My per­son­al high­light is actu­ally the bridge. Not only does it bring a dark tone to the track, but it’s also extremely excit­ing son­ic­ally. A suc­cess­ful pre­view of the upcom­ing EP "Ocean".
