&Tilly – A Walk In The Dark

&Tilly - A Walk In The Dark (Cover artwork)Official music video 'A Walk In The Dark' performed by '&Tilly'. The slow, almost ballad style song 'A Walk In The Dark' is a very emotional song about the fear of the war in the neighbour country (Ukraine).

Sonically the song has a typical mid 90s beat like Enigma (Sadeness Pt.1) or Duran Duran (Ordinary World) had, but is also infected with some modern influences like dark pop. If you like the references then 'A Walk In The Dark' would properly suit you. Give it a listen!

Lyrics of '&Tilly – A Walk In The Dark'

Learn to stay alone
Learn to walk in the dark
In front, the great unknown
Only smoke instead of a spark

The curtains fall
The actors bow
The curtains close
A mushroom cloud

Can you see the storm
Glow a million miles away
Rumbling next-door rain
Poisons the river bay

So start and
Learn to stay alone
Learn to walk in the dark
In front of great unknown
Hide in smoke and sparks

The curtains fall
The actors bow
The curtains close
A mushroom cloud

The heavy-weights
Get slimmer, still
The curtains close
All air feels chill

The curtains fall
Learn to walk in the dark
The weaker pray
Learn to walk in the dark
The curtains close
No point running away

Learn to stay alone
Learn to walk in the dark
In front of great unknown
Only smoke instead of a spark

The curtains fall
The curtains fall
The actors bow
The actors bow
The curtains close
The curtains close
A mushroom cloud

No point
In running away
A mushroom cloud
In running away
A mushroom cloud
In running away

And running away

&Tilly about 'A Walk In The Dark'

A Walk in the Dark is another of our synth-heavy indie electronic / synthpop tracks, this time deeply inspired by the Fallout game series T was accompanied by since childhood and which she still loves so deeply. The AWITD song depicts a post-war world, a picture of darkness becoming a warning against war and the destruction and fear it brings that is so close to us at the moment, in fact right behind the border, in Ukraine.
