For fans of 'New Order' the song 'I Choose Love' by the British Duo 'CATBEAR' is a must listen. With very few exceptions, I personally don't like any guitar sound. But here the synthesizer parts have a counterbalance that works for me.
Some parts of the guitars (e.g. from 0:59min) even remind me of some old songs by 'The Cure'. If that's not even a bombastic combination, then I don't know what else to do.
