When dark wave and witch house tempt you to dance
An electrifying maelstrom of darkness and rhythm – that's my first impression of ‘Intoxication’, the opener of the new EP ‘Love Me From The Grave’ by Dionnysuss x Sad Madona. The Uzbek-French collaboration has created a track here that immediately captivates me.
From the very beginning, I am enveloped in an eerie atmosphere that skilfully oscillates between dark wave and witch house. What particularly impresses me is the massive electronic beat, which makes the song extremely danceable despite its dark mood. At 0:57 minutes, synths set in, giving the whole thing a touch of future pop in a weird way – a surprising but welcome twist, in my opinion.
As the track progresses, more and more techno elements flow in, especially the hi-hats stand out for me. Dionnysuss x Sad Madona manages to integrate these influences so skilfully that they don't weaken the main genre, but rather give the sound a fascinating depth and variety. For me, it is precisely this versatility that makes ‘Intoxication’ an extremely exciting listening experience.
Lyrically, the song deals with the theme of an obsessive, almost toxic attraction. Lines like "Intoxication of your lips / I feel it on my neck" perfectly emphasise the intoxicating yet threatening mood of the music. This song is a must-have for fans of dark, electronic music.

Lyrics of "Dionnysuss x Sad Madona – Intoxication"
Intoxication of your lips
I feel it on my neck
And I just can't
Get more obsessed
The curves of your legs
I can't escape this spells
My promises to stay
We're belong to hell
The echo of your sighs
Burns my soul inside
Swallow broken glass of wine
To make your heart just mine
Make it just mine
Make it just mine
Intoxication in your kiss
A sense I can't resist
I crave your lips
Before the eclipse
Tu laisses derrière toi
Des larmes en seul souvenir
On pleure tard le soir
Je t'aime et je me noie
Dans tes larmes
Dans tes larmes
Oh reste, oh reste
Oh reste, oh reste
Oh reste, oh reste
