12 Illusions – Revalue The Time

With the crisp uptempo song 'Revalue The Time', the German synth pop band '12 Illusions' man­ages to get an entry on Electrozombies. The band already presen­ted their debut single 'The Juggler' in December. However, it only made it into our Spotify playl­ist 'New Synth Pop Songs 2022'. The word 'only' should not relativ­ise the song, it just didn't con­vince me 100%. The cur­rent song 'Revalue The Time' is much bet­ter and more inde­pend­ent in my opinion.

The band has great role mod­els like Depeche Mode, Erasure, Rotersand and Wolfsheim, just to name a few. But just listen for your­self and see if you agree with these idols.

12 Illusions about 'Revalue The Time'

This is the second single of 12ILLUSIONS, a newly-launched German dark elec­tro pop band.

Leading mem­bers are Georg Lenhardt, drum­mer & per­cus­sion­ist of DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER, and Arno Zillmer, lead sing­er of his eponym­ous group. These musi­cians cre­ate an emotive music­al cock­tail char­ac­ter­ized by pro­gress­ive rhythms, catchy syn­thes­izer lines and atmo­spher­ic gui­tars which paired with a dark but shim­mery voice. The band draws inspir­a­tion from the likes of Depeche Mode, And One, Wolfsheim, VNV Nation… just to name a few.

12 ILLUSIONS is inject­ing ori­gin­al cre­ativ­ity into the pop-wave genre. For mil­lions, this era is the time of their lives!
