Danceable EBM meets club flair
The new track “Living To Die” by the US synth pop duo Graveyard Gossip immediately takes me by surprise with an astonishingly lively EBM beat that instantly reminds me of legendary club classics by And One. This danceable track drives the rhythm powerfully forward and thrives on the duo’s multifaceted vocal variations, which maintain a sense of tension throughout.
The gothic project cleverly blends influences from dark wave and electropunk here, whilst the song stems from a deep reflection on the societal dangers of being different. At just two minutes and forty seconds in length, the track is extremely entertaining and, for my taste, ends almost far too quickly.
