The US synth pop artist 'River Huxley' is back with his spooky song 'Spirits Of The Dead'. The track is catchy for dance floor and contains gloomy sound effects like there were taken from horror movies. I personally really like such extraordinary synth sounds.
I don't think it is necessary to mention that this a perfect pick for a Halloween playlist. This song is part of our Spotify playlist ‘New Synth Pop Songs 2022‘. The playlist is updated continuously. Follow this playlist now and don’t miss any of the latest synth pop hits in 2022.

River Huxley about 'Spirits Of The Dead'
River Huxley returns this October with his newest single “Spirits of the Dead”, the sequel to his debut single released last year, “Creatures of the Night”. With a variety of influences from Synthwave, Horror Pop to Darkwave, Huxley continues to blend and push the limits on his signature Electropunk genre-bending style.
The track features hard-hitting vocals behind a melodic yet danceable and anxiety-inducing beat, perfect for a night of terror this Halloween season. The track borrows its title from literary/horror legend Edgar Allan Poe’s poem “Spirits of the Dead”. Huxley explains on why he calls the single a sequel and his continuous fascination with all things horror:
“Horror movies and literature are at the forefront of my artmaking. It’s a major source of inspiration, growing up watching the Universal Monster movies like Frankenstein and Dracula, and later becoming obsessed with John Carpenter, Stephen King and Stanley Kubrick. It made sense to me to treat my own music like movies and continue the storyline.”
“Spirits of the Dead” is the first of 5 singles that will be compiled into River Huxley’s first EP titled “Rites of Passage”, with the next songs being released every month from January 2023 to April 2023.
