Snotty elegance: Free Your Mind (Bottos) between Ladytron and Chicks On Speed
With ‘Free Your Mind (Bottos)’, Klangman delivers a track that, for me, lands somewhere between Ladytron and Chicks On Speed – synth pop meets snotty, slightly erotic vocals, while remaining wonderfully catchy. The vocals really stand out for me: cheeky, a little sizzling, and the absolute highlight.
The lyrics perfectly reflect this feeling of escape and colour hunting in a metaphor described by the artist. A modern existentialism song about alienation, loss of meaning and the desire for spiritual liberation in a grey, artificial world.
After just two minutes, I'm already fully into the vibe, then it's over – but that's exactly what makes it so appealing to me. Short, crisp, straight to the point. For me, it works perfectly here.

Lyrics of "Klangman – Free Your Mind (Bottos)"
Black Neon Lights
Silent Thunder
Grey Movie Nights
Searching colors
Fading paintings all the lights are slowly dimming
Shouting faces
Heads goes spinning
Free your mind
And break out to the other side the other side
Leaving it all behind
And break out to the other side the other side
Fantasy
No Magic numbers
No Fairy Tales
No glam down under
Fading paintings all the lights are slowly dimming
Shouting faces
Head keeps spinning
Black Neon Lights
Silent Thunder
Grey Movie Nights
Searching colors
Fading paintings all the lights are slowly dimming
Shouting faces
Head keeps spinning
Free your mind
And break out to the other side the other side
Leaving it all behind
And break out to the other side the other side
