Why 'Mile Deep Hollow' sounds fantastic even when stripped back

When an artist I already like cov­ers an abso­lute favour­ite song by anoth­er artist I love, you just know it is going to be bril­liant. Honestly, the res­ult was always going to be fant­ast­ic. And to be fair, this cov­er ver­sion of 'Mile Deep Hollow' has turned out incred­ibly well.

The dark pop / witch pop track really stands out because it takes a slightly more min­im­al­ist approach com­pared to the ori­gin­al. Plus, it is now driv­en by beau­ti­fully clear female vocals. That is pre­cisely what makes this rein­ter­pret­a­tion so appeal­ing to me. Here and there, I might have wished for a bit more bold­ness regard­ing the elec­tron­ic effects, but that is def­in­itely nit­pick­ing at a high level. Agnis got this abso­lutely spot on. Huge com­pli­ments from my side!
