When the cold takes over
For me, the intro to “Too Far Gone” alone has it all. A thick bassline meets cool, classic analogue synth sounds, giving the whole track an incredibly rich and electronic sound. Only the subtly interwoven guitar, which skilfully drifts from the left to the right channel, adds a subtle touch of dark wave.
But that’s only half the story, because the vocals are also outstanding, pleasantly soft and a perfect fit for this sombre vibe. When the chorus kicks in, it really gives me goosebumps. Accompanied by lines about speechlessness and emotional coldness, in which a mouthful of daggers and icy bones fall on deaf ears, this unfolds into a lyrically powerful track.
