Even in the intro, "The Rabbit" builds up gently. Almost as if you were secretly playing a song on a cassette player under a bedcovers, while the sound is reminiscent of the mysterious soundtrack of an 80s series. But after exactly 20 seconds, the track really kicks in, instantly enveloping me in exquisite, incredibly catchy synth-pop filled with classic sounds.

I am particularly impressed by the many subtle background noises and effects, featuring a faint Halloween vibe, that immediately lend the song a chilling, atmospheric density. Matching the dark drama of the lyrics, which center on a moonlit night-time hunt, the soft, almost breathy yet clearly articulated vocals provide the perfect counterpoint, injecting just the right amount of warmth into the mystical setting. With its crisp beats and irresistible melodies, this track stands out as a genuine highlight of the album *The Death of Me*.
