Violent Vickie hypnotises with ‘High’

In the music scene, you need two things above all else: stam­ina and tenacity. Violent Vickie has both. She has pitched songs to me sev­er­al times, but to be hon­est, no track has really con­vinced me so far. With her new dark pop num­ber ‘High’, that has now com­pletely changed. The track is abso­lutely coher­ent and per­fectly structured.

Although the play­ing time is quite short at 2:10 minutes and the lyr­ics remain min­im­al­ist­ic, the length is just right. Vickie's singing voice is simply fant­ast­ic and gives the song an aura that invites you to sit back and enjoy. Sonically, the whole thing is inspired by greats like Madeline Goldstein and Glass Spells, but remains unique. A darkly seduct­ive piece of music that, with its pulsat­ing synths and Vickie's cap­tiv­at­ing pres­ence, finally leaves the last­ing impres­sion I've been wait­ing for.
