The Black Celebration from Sweden have done it again, and this time with their latest track 'Shout It Out' from the 5‑track EP of the same name. After I was already thrilled by 'Damn, This Soul' in March this year, I had high expectations for this track. And I was not disappointed.
'Shout It Out' takes us on a journey into the dark depths of synth pop. The 90s sounding synths give the song a nostalgic feel, while the electronic elements infuse it with a distinctive industrial vibe. I'm a little reminded of the B‑sides from the "Depeche Mode" era between "Violator" and "Songs Of Faith And Devotion". The combination of these elements creates a unique, energetic vibe that draws you in.
What I like about 'The Black Celebration' is its progression in an even gloomier and darker wave direction. 'Shout It Out' shows that they are not following well-worn paths, but are willing to explore new sonic horizons. This song is part of our Spotify playlist ‘New Synth Pop Songs 2023‘. The playlist is updated continuously. Follow this playlist now and don’t miss any of the latest synth pop hits in 2023.

Lyrics of 'The Black Celebration – Shout It Out'
You stumble down the backstreet
you hide in the shadows
you look yourself up in the dark
you living in the past
you covered in dust
I see the death of an old man’s heart
Shout it out now
I shout it out your body and mind ain’t free
I shout it out now
shout it out time to run from this misery
Too many secrets flooding this room
must be hard to keep your soul dry
I feel the anxiety and this darkness around you
while your heart sinks to the bottom to die
Shout it out now
I shout it out your body and mind ain’t free
I shout it out now
shout it out time to run from this misery
Alt verse.
Set your body and mind free
find the light in you
time to run from this misery
find the light in you
Shout it out
Help me out
Down and out
The light is out
The doom has come there’s no spark
You fade away into the dark
Shout it out now
I shout it out your body and mind ain’t free
I shout it out now
shout it out time to run from this misery
The Black Celebration about 'Shout It Out'
The tracks and the lyrics was made in my home studio, no waiting for inspiration, just hard work and shots of jaeger to pull this through. When the songs was baked and ready my ghost vocalists stepped in to help me out with the vocals. The songs are about bad habits and social exclusion.
