Straight from a time machine that started in the 80s, the song ‘Remember The Time (Feat. Valerie)’ by ‘u-sayn’ lands in the here and now. Full of nostalgia, I listen to the first seconds and know that someone who lives in the 80s has made this. This new wave / synth pop sound cannot be reproduced today without the appropriate background.
I’m not exactly known for my emotional outbursts, as I like to keep control in public at all times. Lyrically, the song puts me in a reflective and melancholic state. Yes, memories can trigger strong feelings, but the realist in me says that memories of old times are mostly of a transfigured, romantic nature. But still a great song!
