When In Rome – Human Nature

Fantastically catchy: When In Rome deliver the perfect electro pop style

When In Rome - Human NatureWith “Human Nature”, the English synth-pop icons When In Rome are finally back, and the song gives me some really strong Pet Shop Boys vibes. It’s rare for me to like a song straight away, but that’s the case here. The intro alone is juicy and crisp. The whole electro-pop style and the fantastic catchiness had me hooked straight away.

A real highlight is the bridge at 2:34: to me, it sounds like classic Pet Shop Boys, as if Chris Lowe had laid down the vocals here with additional electronic voices. The backing singers also give the song a really nice-sounding 80s vibe, which harmonises brilliantly with the danceable energy.

I’m already looking forward to the announced album *Illumination*. If the whole album is based on this quality and sound, a review might well be in order.
