Men Without Hats dance again
‘In Glorious Days’ hits me right away with its crystal-clear electro pop sound – precise, pulsating and yet warm in tone. I have to admit: apart from the mega-hit ‘The Safety Dance’ from 1982, I've always been rather peripheral to Men Without Hats. I had practically forgotten about ‘Pop Goes The World’ (1987) – and then in 2022, after years of silence (from my perspective), the band suddenly reappeared on my radar with ‘If The World Should End Today’. For me, it was like a musical reboot that brought back old memories.
The song ‘In Glorious Days’ sounds amazingly fresh in its production. Powerful and danceable, without sounding too polished. The basic beat has plenty of drive, but the guitars are a little too pop-oriented for my taste – which also makes the song radio-friendly. Nevertheless, the chorus draws you in immediately, and by the third listen at the latest, I realise that I'm already singing along inside my head. This "Jump, Jump, Jump" sticks in your mind – it's almost meanly catchy. Lyrically, ‘In Glorious Days’ plays with the contrast between euphoria and vulnerability. Have a listen and share your thoughts on the song.

Lyrics of "Men Without Hats – In Glorious Days"
Burn
I could walk away, in glorious days
And I never thought I’d ever get to heaven, with all that I feel inside
Help me if you may, in notorious ways
And I wouldn’t think about it for a second, with all that I feel is right
I don’t want to burn up in your fire, I just want to Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump
I don’t want to burn up with desire, not me no
Don’t blame me, cuz I’ve been burned before
Don’t blame me, when ashes hit the floor
I don’t want to burn up in your fire, I just want to Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump
I just want to Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump
I just want to say, your secret is safe
And even when the dark of night surrounds you
I know that you’ll see the light
I just want to pray, you’re feeling okay
Even when your world is falling all around you
I know that you’ll be alright
I don’t want to burn up in your fire, I just want to Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump
I don’t want to burn up with desire, not me no
Don’t blame me, cuz I’ve been burned before
Don’t blame me, when ashes hit the floor
I don’t want to burn up in your fire, I just want to Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump
While I wait, the night closes in
Lying awake with no answers
My mistake, as a new day begins
Parting ways with the dancers and romancers
I don’t want to burn up in your fire, I just want to Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump
I don’t want to burn up with desire, not me no
Don’t blame me, cuz I’ve been burned before
Don’t blame me, when ashes hit the floor
I don’t want to burn up in your fire, I just want to Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump
In glorious days
I just want to jump, jump, jump, jump
In glorious days
I just want to jump, jump, jump, jump
