Zardonic’s latest album ‘Become’ is the best example, that dancing is not about ignoring and denying. Venezuela’s iconic DJ with the supercool mask manages to melt in-your-face dance beats with criticism towards developments in society, violence in the world and dark forebodings of what our future holds for us. Still, the album’s driving energy doesn’t leave you all gloomy and helpless, it picks you up and leaves you with a healthy rage and some new points of view.
This record is also a collaboration with a good part of the Electronic Rock scene for it features bands like Celldweller, American Grim, The Qemists and many more. It’s so to speak a family meeting of a special kind. What really intrigued me was the fact, that Zardonic leaves the featured artists enough room for their own style without losing his own characteristics. So in fact, you don’t just get an energetic as ever Zardonic record, you also get new works from some of your other favourite electronic artists – if that’s not worth the money!
